What a time to be alive

The NBA is putting together a televised game of horse for people all over the country to watch. Why is that relevant to Thunder fans? Because our starting point guard Chris Paul is expected to participate in it. There is no set date yet but with players on board for the event and a high demand for any excuse of a sport, the NBA is sorta backed into a corner. They can either televise it themselves and make a little money during this hiatus, or players like Chris Paul, Trae Young, and Zach LaVine will simply air it live in social media for people to see. Either way it’s looking like Thunder fans are going to get to see their star in action very soon. #thunderup #lambertslayup

Championship through crisis?

What’s going on in the world is unprecedented, that much we know. One of the few things we can talk about with certainty is playoff standing through this hiatus. The NBA can’t just pick up where they left off with games, at that rate you’d have the finals during October, and then a week later, you’d have to start the 2020 season. So here’s what has to happen, the NBA just has to cancel the games that are being missed currently and pick up the season at the start of the playoffs. So, the way they will more than likely do that, is simply take the standings that were in place already, and start the playoffs from there. Yes, they may play out some regular season games but how much of an impact could that actually have on the top half of the playoff standings? Little to no affect would be the answer. So let’s talk Thunder shall we. OKC sits at the fifth spot in the west, only a game back from the Jazz. As it is beginning to unfold, the silver lining for Thunder nation is that we have a great chance of making the playoffs. That’s about the only good news to report currently other that no NBA player has the virus as of this publication anymore. Stay safe, and hug your family close. But not too close, practice that six foot radius, or better terms for NBA fans, just outside of Shaq’s range. #lambertslayup

OKC Thunder roaring on the road

Starting off the season, the Thunder struggled like most thought they would, but especially struggled on the road. The team had dropped 7 games on the road before November. After dropping one more road game to the Blazers, the Thunder seemed to finally click. Since that loss the Thunder have gone 16-3 on the road. That is unheard of in OKC history.

It’s easy to get caught up in the game to game details during the season but it’s good to take a step back and look at stats like this before going forward. What does this news mean for Thunder fans,? Well, look at the playoff picture, OKC isn’t going to have home court advantage in almost any series baring a shocker of any kind. If they can steal a game or two on the road per series, the Thunder are all of the sudden finals contenders which I know sounds ridiculous in a way, but going 16-3 on the road is a little ridiculous also.

It’s interesting to be in this position as a Thunder fan, because we’re this late in the season and our team still has a lot of question marks surrounding it. Is this the underdog squad that the league should be cautious of?

The tough two

The Oklahoma City Thunder have lost two straight games but there might be a silver lining in store for Loud city…….

Just kidding a loss is a loss, and the credit is due to the Celtics and Spurs for sending us home sad. But cheer up buttercup, because our boys fought til the end in both, they didn’t get blown out by any means, and they’re still in good shape for playoff contention.

If anything this is a great time for them to regroup, acknowledge their strengths as well as their weaknesses. They play the Pelicans fearing the almighty Zion (hope you laughed at, because he’s a rookie and hasn’t done a thing yet but we all act like he’s the next Lebron but I’m ranting) in New Orleans tomorrow and after that they get to rest until next Friday.

So if I were coach Billy, I would take this break to enjoy Valentine’s Day if that’s something he cared about but then get to the drawing board and make sure his team stays humble and stays hungry.

We have a world to stun people, let’s get to work! #Thunderup #Lambertslayup

What a month

The last time the Thunder scored less that 100 points was a decade ago……no but in all seriousness, it was December 29th against the raptors. The Thunder have been on a offensive hot streak. It’s been a fun stretch to watch and they’ve compiled a record of 11-4 since this streak began. It’s easy to get caught up in who’s an all star and who’s not, speaking of it’s looking like OKC probably isn’t going to have an all star, but they’re winning by good team basketball. This Thunder team is cruising below everyone’s radar right now and Oklahoma City is running out of popcorn watching their team climb the ranks.
